DAY 1: ARUSHA TO NGORONGORO CRATER

Embark on your journey after an early breakfast at your Arusha hotel (0730hrs to 0800hrs). Your personal driver guide will pick you up for the drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The scenic drive, approximately 3.5 hours, takes you to the floor of the iconic crater. Pause at a panoramic viewpoint to admire the crater’s expanse before descending. Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and geo-park, boasts an astonishing array of wildlife, including around 25,000 mammals and over 500 bird species, including migratory birds such as flamingos. The crater’s diverse ecosystem supports a range of species, including the elusive black rhinos, completing the famed Big 5. As you explore, encounter zebras, wildebeests, hyenas, lion prides, gazelles, impalas, kudus, waterbucks, and more. A highlight is the Ngoitoktok picnic site, a permanent hippo pool where you’ll enjoy a delightful lunch. After lunch and a fulfilling game drive, ascend from the crater and return to Arusha.
