OVERVIEW

This 6-day midrange safari on the northern circuit of Tanzania takes you to the most famous and incredible parks, including Tarangire, Serengeti, Lake Manyara, and Ngorongoro. Experience the beauty of large African elephants, ancient baobab trees, endangered black rhinos, tree-climbing lions, and witness the great migration in the Western Serengeti. You will stay in midrange lodges with private showers.

DETAILED ITINERARY

DAY 1: ARRIVAL AT THE AIRPORT TO ARUSHA

Upon arrival at the airport in Arusha (ARK) or Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be met and welcomed by your representative from Bapta African Safaris, who will give you a short briefing before you drive to your lodgings in Arusha for an overnight stay.

DAY 2: ARUSHA TO TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

Early morning after having breakfast at your hotel in Arusha at around 0730hrs to 0800hrs, you will be picked up by your personal driver guide and depart straight to Tarangire National Park. The drive takes approximately 2.5 hours to the park gate. Tarangire National Park is located on the northern part of Tanzania and is known for its wide variety of animals and landscapes. It is home to the greatest concentration of African elephants and ancient baobab trees. You’ll have the opportunity to spot animals like giraffes, zebras, buffalos, lions, leopards, impalas, gazelles, and more. The park also boasts over 500 bird species. After lunch at a picnic site, you will continue your game drive and then proceed to your lodge in Karatu for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

DAY 3-4: KARATU TO WESTERN SERENGETI FOLLOWING THE GREAT MIGRATION

Early morning after breakfast, you will depart for Western Serengeti. From end of April to June, witness the great migration of wildebeests, zebras, elands, and gazelles around the Western Corridor of the Serengeti. The drama unfolds as they navigate the Grumeti River, facing challenges from predators like lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas. After lunch and extensive game drives, return to your Tented partner lodges for dinner and an overnight stay. Spend 2 nights in the Western corridor.

DAY 5: WESTERN SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK TO NGORONGORO CRATER TO KARATU

Early morning after having breakfast at your accommodation in the Western Serengeti, you will drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The drive takes approximately 4 hours to the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater. Enjoy the breathtaking views before descending into the crater. The Ngorongoro Crater is a world heritage site with diverse wildlife, including the endangered black rhinos. You may encounter zebras, wildebeests, hyenas, lions, gazelles, impalas, kudus, waterbucks, buffalos, and more. After your game drive and lunch at a picnic site, ascend the crater and head to your accommodation in Karatu for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

DAY 6: LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK TO ARUSHA

Early morning after having breakfast at your lodge in Karatu at around 0730hrs to 0800hrs, you will depart for Lake Manyara National Park. The drive takes approximately 1 hour to the park gate. Lake Manyara National Park is known for its birdlife and tree-climbing lions. The park features a shallow alkaline lake that attracts numerous bird species, including flamingos, pelicans, storks, herons, cranes, and more. You’ll also encounter animals like lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, warthogs, baboons, blue monkeys, and more. After lunch at a picnic site, you will drive back to Arusha where you will receive a special farewell from a representative of Bapta African Safaris. You can choose to have an extra night in Arusha or proceed to the airport for your onward flight.
